How donuts work

Dough Ingredients:

  • Two cups of fine flour.
  • A tablespoon of instant yeast.
  • Half a teaspoon of salt.
  • Half a teaspoon of baking powder.
  • A quarter cup of caster sugar.

  • A teaspoon of liquid vanilla.
  • Three tablespoons of white vegetable ghee.
  • Half a teaspoon of finely grated orange.
  • Quarter of a teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  • Three quarters of warm milk.
  • Two cups of vegetable corn oil for frying.
  • Food coloring for decoration.

Sugar Covering Ingredients:

  • Two cups of fine powdered sugar.
  • Half a teaspoon of liquid vanilla.
  • A tablespoon of cream, or milk, to taste.

Chocolate Covering:

  • Two cups of fine powdered sugar.
  • Three tablespoons of cocoa powder, gentlemen.
  • Two cups of cream or milk, as desired.

How to prepare:

  • Put the flour, yeast, salt, baking powder, sugar, eggs, vanilla, ghee, grated orange, cinnamon and milk in the electric mixer, install the dough hook, and turn it on at a medium speed; To get a smooth and cohesive dough.
  • Put the resulting dough in a large dish greased with a little oil, cover it with a piece of nylon, and put it in a warm place for an hour; Until doubled in size, and fermented.


Donut making method

  • Spread the dough on a surface using a rolling pin until its thickness is appropriate, and cut it using round cookie cutters according to the preferred size, and then form a small circle in the center of each large circle.
  • Put the circles inside the dish sprinkled with flour, cover it with a clean piece of nylon, and put it in a warm place for about a third of an hour; To rest.
  • Put an amount of oil in a deep frying pan, put it on a medium heat, and leave it until the oil is completely heated, and put the donut circles inside the frying pan, and stir them using a wooden spoon with large holes, until they mature and become golden and red.
  • Remove the donuts from the pan, and place them on pieces of kitchen paper; To get rid of the excess oil, leave it aside, until it cools completely before decorating it.


Donut decoration

  • Put the sugar, liquid vanilla, and cream in a deep bowl, and mix the ingredients well, for complete homogeneity, and to obtain a smooth and thick cream, which is easy to apply.
  • Add a few drops of your favorite food color to cover the sugar, with constant stirring; To get a colored cream.
  • Put the sugar, cocoa powder, and cream in a medium-sized bowl, and mix the ingredients well with each other; to interfere with each other; To make a fish sauce.
  • Put the donuts inside the chocolate, and dip them well; To cover the surface, decorate it with vermicelli, or cover it with colored sugar, and then put it in a serving dish, and serve it cold.
