Creamy Mushroom Soup Recipe
This homemade Creamy Mushroom Soup is packed with so much flavor and true comfort food! Sauteed mushrooms and onions in a creamy and thick soup base, so so delicious!
Servings: 6 servings
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 24 oz mushrooms sliced
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 32 oz chicken broth
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium/high heat. Add sliced mushrooms until fully cooked and golden.
Once mushrooms are cooked, remove the mushrooms from the pot.
Add buttre and saute the finely chopped onion until onions are tender. Add in minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the mushrooms back to the pot and whisk in the flour.
Pour in the broth and seasoning and cook on medium heat for about 10-12 minutes.
Add in the heavy whipping cream and bring to a simmer.
Top with freshly chopped greens and serve.
